Aleksandar Miloradovic and Aleksandar Ljubic
Ljubic told a press conference that the aim of this conference is to attract foreign investors and car parts manufacturers to Serbia and help create new jobs.
He added that after the arrival of the largest Italian car producer Fiat, many other companies have shown interest in setting up the production of car parts in Serbia.
Ljubic said that at the conference, foreign companies will be presented with Serbia’s highly-qualified labour force with long-term experience in the car industry, as well as incentives that are already in place and imply the allocation of €4,000–10,000 to investors per each new job post.
He said the Serbian government has declared the car industry as one of the three priority sectors of strategic importance for Serbia’s development and has prepared a package of incentives for companies wanting to expand their production programmes.
The conference will see more than 130 companies gathered, including leaders in this field such as the Magna, Bosch, Denso, Valeo, Johnson Controls, Delphi, TWD International and Mitsubishi Electric, said Ljubic.
Potential investors will be presented with other investment sites apart from Kragujevac, namely Nis, Loznica, Zajecar, Zrenjanin and other cities, he said.
He said that this investment conference will also gather representatives of local governments and banks.
Advisor at the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) Aleksandar Miloradovic announced the participation of companies from Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Japan, Austria, France, Hungary, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, the UK and the United States.
He pointed out that Serbia has for the first time organised an investment conference of this format and added that the number of participants inspire optimism, as it confirms that there are many manufacturers in the world who want to invest in Serbia.
