Dacic delivers financial help to family of killed Gendarmerie member

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic visited the family of Gendarmerie member Jovica Simic today, who was killed recently and delivered RSD 600,000 in financial help to his family. The sum was collected by police personnel.
Dacic said at the occasion that Simic was an outstanding member of the Gendarmerie and did high risk work.
The Interior Ministry will make every effort to find employment for Simic’s widow and will provide for his children, as is the norm in these cases, he said.
Five members of the police force were killed last year. Police work is very difficult and risky and it is important to show solidarity with the families of those killed, he said.
Jovica Simic was killed on duty in a mine clearance operation.
