Ugljanin told a press conference held on the occasion of the closure of the competition for the allocation of funds for the preparation of project documentation for underdeveloped areas in 2010 that the underdeveloped municipalities now include Bela Crkva, Alibunar, Osecina, Barbarian, Ljubovija and Petrovac.
Speaking on the activities of the Office for the sustainable development of underdeveloped areas, he pointed out that in the past the focus was on forming a partnership of private and public sector, infrastructure development and motivation of investors to invest in underdeveloped areas in Serbia.
Assistant Director of the Office Edib Kajevic said that the strengthening of partnerships between local communities and potential investors is the right way to encourage the development of underdeveloped municipalities.
Deputy Director of the Office Semsudin Kucevic emphasized the importance of education of people in local communities in order to increase the capacity of these municipalities to attract investment, primarily for the construction of industrial centres and customs-free zones, guaranteeing the fastest growth.
