First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic stated that the police apprehended a nine-member international organised criminal group who smuggled people, mostly Albanians, from Kosovo-Metohija through Serbia and to the EU.
Dacic told the press that the group organiser was Uka Sadat from Podujevo and co-his organiser Rifi Sabahudin from Konculj near Bujanovac. He noted that members of the group are of Hungarian and Serbian nationality.
He explained that the group managed to transfer a large number of emigrants by land and water routes, adding that during the arrest in Subotica the police also found four persons trying to illegally cross the border with Hungary.
