Minister for Public Administration and Local Self Government Milan Markovic stated that at its session today the government adopted a Decree amending the Decree on oil derivatives prices, under which oil derivatives prices will be adjusted every 30 days, not 15 as up until now.

Addressing a press conference, he said that the Decree envisages price adjustments when overall oil prices change by a minimum of 3.5% up or down, instead of 1.5% which was the case earlier.
This amendment will protect living standards. No price changes are expected to take place during next month, he said.
The Minister pointed out that further price movements will depend on the amount of excises on oil products, and added that the above-mentioned decree should be published in the Official Gazette tomorrow and will take effect the day after.
Markovic said that the government has now adopted a Decree on the establishment of an office for cooperation with civil society to work on continuous dialogue between the state and NGOs on issues of common interest.
The adoption of this regulation is a very important step because the government has thus completed the policy relating to the development of civil society.
He pointed out that the government in this way wants to strengthen the capacity of associations and other organisations of civil society, because it considers that the NGOs are a necessary condition of the democratic development of each country and society.
Markovic said that the office would have five employees, who will receive a salary in accordance with the Law on Civil Servants, adding that £100,000 from donations has been provided for the work of this office in 2010.
