Dacic opens police department in Zrenjanin

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic opened a police department in the settlement of Bagljas in Zrenjanin today and held a meeting with the city’s police officers.
Dacic said that the Ministry wants to be in the service of citizens and to hear their demands.
He recalled that one of the requests from Zrenjanin was to open a police department in this settlement.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that the opening of this department will increase security and unburden the headquarters of the city’s Police Administration regarding the issuance of documents.
He said that police have a difficult and responsible position in achieving broad jurisdictions, and reiterated that the main tasks of the police are to combat crime, maintain public peace and order and maintain a stable security situation in Serbia.
Dacic announced that the opening of the Jasa Tomic border crossing point at the end of April will mark the quinquennium of vast floods in this part of Banat, when the Tamis River flooded the area.
Zrenjanin Mayor Mile Mihajlov expressed satisfaction because the local government was able to help the police.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also spoke with heads of the Police Administration in Zrenjanin.
Dacic will end his visit to Zrenjanin in the Mlekoprodukt dairy plant.
