Karamarkovic told a press conference that the main theme of this conference will be energy efficiency, primarily due to the irrational use of energy in Serbia.
He added that as part of the international conference, an energy, environment and energy efficiency fair will be held.
The Assistant Minister said that Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric will open the conference in the presence of Italian Ambassador to Serbia Armando Varricchio, Head of European Commission Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert and the Chairman of the Management Board of Fiat Automobili Srbija Giovanni de Filippis.
Energy efficiency is the greatest potential for increasing the economic power of Serbia, he said and added that works of eminent experts in the field of energy efficiency, environmental protection and the use of renewable energy sources will be presented in Kragujevac.
Special attention will be devoted to the impact of the energy sector in environmental protection, he said.
The development of legislative regulation in the energy sector, stimulatory measures for greater use of renewable energy sources and the creation of a fund for energy efficiency will be among the topics of discussion at the conference, he announced.
Executive Director of the electric power company EPS Bratislav Ceperkovic announced that EPS and the city of Kragujevac will sign a memorandum that will solve major energy issues that affect the supply of the electric industrial zone Korman Polje in Kragujevac, where a large number of investors, partners of Fiat, are expected to invest.
Ceperkovic pointed out that this memorandum refers to the new power plant project.
Member of the City Council of Kragujevac Zoran Jovanovic said that raising the energy potential of Kragujevac and the region through construction of new pipelines from Kraljevo and Kragujevac and a transformer station in Korman Polje will increase the economic power of Kragujevac.
The international conference will be held from 11 to 13 March in Kragujevac under the patronage of the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the city of Kragujevac in cooperation with Fiat Srbija.
