Interior Ministry will accelerate EU integration through reform

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic stated today that his Ministry is ready to accelerate Serbia’s EU integration process by implementing reforms in its expert services departments.

Speaking at the opening of a seminar on “Presenting a Modern Concept of Human Resource Management”, Dacic said that human resource management is a new concept of personnel management and can help achieve the modernisation required to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The organisation of this seminar by the Interior Ministry in cooperation with the OSCE is the beginning of a project “Evaluating Human Resource Management at the Ministry of the Interior”, financed by Norway, he said.

The project is designed to create a basis for building a modern and sustainable human resource system, in line with the best models implemented in EU countries, explained Dacic.

We cannot have a modern and well organised police force without modern and well organised personnel, he stressed.

The seminar is being attended by domestic and foreign experts who will present their opinions on human resource management for improving police personnel organisation in accordance with EU standards.

The seminar has been organised to raise awareness about the importance of human resources and the Ministry’s needs regarding adjustment to modern concepts in the process of EU integration.
