Attempt to destabilise life in southern Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic stated it is possible that the car bomb placed under the car of police officer Bljerim Mustafa in Bujanovac was an act of terrorism.

At the Emergency Centre in Belgrade, to which the injured policeman was transported early on Monday, Dacic said that Bljerim Mustafa’s family had already been a target of Albanian terrorist attacks in the past.
Such an act greatly destabilises the joint life in southern Serbia and the multiethnic police is crucial to the functioning of state and local self-government organs, Dacic said.
He said the police are doing their best to make sure that this terrorist act does not jeopardise the political stability and the lives of all citizens in south Serbia.
We will not allow terrorist groups from Kosovo-Metohija and parts of Macedonia to reach southern Serbia, Dacic stressed, adding that the political climate of co-existence must be created with joint efforts of the state, the local self-government and international organisations and institutions.
