Swedish support to Serbia’s sustainable development

Belgrade, 11 February 2010

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic and Swedish Ambassador to Serbia Nils Krister Bringeus signed an agreement yesterday on Sweden’s donation to the project “Support in the implementation of the Serbian national strategy for sustainable development”.

This agreement is a continuation of cooperation between Serbia and Sweden in the field of sustainable development, which has been in place since 2005, when the national strategy for sustainable development was prepared.

This project has already been running for three years and is worth €2.1 million. Sweden has expressed a readiness to provide additional support by financing actual demonstration projects in the field of waste management, as a contribution to promotion and implementation of the sustainable development in practice.
