Dacic to attend regional ministerial conference in Zagreb

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic will attend a regional ministerial conference to be held on February 12 in Zagreb. The meeting will be attended by the interior ministers of the former Yugoslavia countries.
According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, this is the fourth such meeting and is being organised by Croatian Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko. The meeting will be opened by Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.
The conference will focus on regional police cooperation, the fight against organised crime and drug trafficking.
The conference is an opportunity to send a unique message to those who do not heed the law and inform them that police units are working together to suppress all threats and make the Western Balkans the safest part of Europe.
A great deal was accomplished in the past year when it comes to combatting organised crime and terrorism. We also realised a considerable number of joint and coordinated operations which led to the break-up of criminal groups and arrest of their members.
This is why the improvement of international cooperation and exchange of experiences in the fight against terrorism is one of the Ministry’s key goals, the statement adds.
