Djelic said that Fule decided to hold his first working meeting with the Serbian delegation and discuss Serbia’s EU candidacy application.
Although that falls within the competence of Spain, as the country holding the EU Presidency, the European Commission can also have a say, Djelic explained.
The meeting will also look at the preparations of the committee for monitoring the Interim trade agreement, which will hold a meeting on March 2 in Belgrade to examine Serbia’s progress in the agreement implementation from January 2009 to March 2, 2010.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that he will discuss many topics with Fule and show that as far as Serbia is concerned European integration does not only mean obtaining EU candidacy status.
