Dacic meets FBI Director, concludes visit to US

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic concluded his visit to the United States after meeting with FBI Director Robert Miller.

Dacic and Miller discussed the fight against organised crime, hi-tech crime and terrorism, as well as the training of Serbian police officers.
They stressed that their cooperation so far has been successful, agreeing that it should be intensified in the future.
According to them, the FBI and the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, as well as the United States and Serbia, have the same goal, and that is to combat terrorism, organised crime and hi-tech crime, because all forms of modern crime have developed a transnational character.
During the meeting they also contemplated increasing the number of Serbian police officers attending the FBI Academy.
Miller highlighted that the participation of Serbian police officers in peace missions is of outstanding importance when it comes to improving Serbia’s image in the world and endorsed the Ministry of the Interior’s intention to send more police officers to UN peacekeeping missions.
During the meeting he underlined the US government’s gratitude over the participation of Serbian police instructors in peacekeeping missions in Congo and Afghanistan under the EU’s auspices.
