Serbia improves rating at OECD

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic said today that Serbia’s rating at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which is relevant to all organisations and agencies for business risk insurance, increased and passed from the sixth category to the fifth.

In a statement to Fonet agency, Djelic said that according to the OECD report, Serbia is the only country whose rating has been improved.
The actual effect of this rating improvement is that companies that do business with Serbia will pay less for insurance of their loans and interest rates may be lower by approximately 0.2%.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that that is a very important signal to all investors in the world and that in the time of economic crisis Serbia is the only country that has improved its rating, which represents an award for the efforts that the Serbian government has made in the past few years.
We believe that Serbia’s rating will continue to grow, Djelic said and added that many OECD members helped this happen, primarily Germany and France.
He said that Germany will apply the new rating and lower interests on insurance in business activities with Serbia as of February 5.
