Milosavljevic said at a press conference held on the occasion of the National No Tobacco Day at the Institute of Public Health Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut that 2.24% of the population have been vaccinated.
He said that there will be seasonal viruses in February and March and that authorities will continue to animate people regarding vaccination.
According to the Minister, influenza A virus (H1N1) will remain potentially dangerous in next two months and surely next season, which is why the campaign that calls for vaccination continues to make sense.
The Minister said that response to the vaccination campaign has been smaller than planned, which is partly the result of the fact that the media have been giving false and partly true information about the vaccine.
Milosavljevic said that the vaccination media campaign did not start massively at the moment when everything was ready, because only the televisions Studio B and SOS channel accepted to broadcast campaign videos free-of-charge.
According to him, other media companies broadcast the video only once, usually in the afternoon or in the evening. The negative effect was enhanced by statements of doctors and other health workers against the vaccination.
