Krkobabic gives support to Serbian Gerontology Society

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic spoke today with representatives of the Serbian Gerontology Society and expressed the hope that the association’s activities will help improve the position of the elderly people who are burdened with a series of health, social and financial problems.
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Krkobabic met with representatives of the Gerontology Society, headed by President Milos Nemanjic, who presented the most important activities of this society.
The organisation gathers hundreds of prominent scientists and associates, and has existed for already 36 years.
They also announced that a congress of this association will be held in May in Vrnjacka Banja.
The congress, which is expected to gather around 500 participants from Serbia and abroad, will be sponsored by Serbian President Boris Tadic.
The Serbian government adopted in 2006 the National Strategy on the Aging, but little was done on the implementation of the set tasks.
