Bradic to attend opening of “Istanbul – European Culture Capital 2010”

The Ministry of Culture stated that Minister Nebojsa Bradic will attend the opening of “Istanbul – European Culture Capital 2010” on January 16.
The statement adds that the programme to mark the ceremony will be organised in several places throughout Istanbul with as many as 500 performers.
The main ceremony themed “The Magic of Istanbul” will be held at the Congress Centre where various aspects of Turkey’s rich cultural heritage will be presented.
The event is being held under the auspices of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and it is expected to be attended by some 5,000 eminent representatives of European countries.
During the year, as part of this project, more than 400 programmes will be held in which artists and institutions from Serbia will also take part.
Before the opening of the event, Bradic will attend the opening of Muhsin Ertugrul theatre which was pulled down two years ago, it is added in the statement.
