Head of the emergency services sector Predrag Maric informed the Minister about the current situation regarding river levels.
Dacic stressed that all available resources are being used to build river dykes to prevent flooding, adding that members of the Gendarmerie, police and the helicopter unit are part of these efforts.
He said that the largest threat is posed by the flooding of the River Sava, which is expected to reach critical levels on January 13 and 14.
The Minister said that the crews are on the ground strengthening the embankments so that the water can not cause harm to people or property.
Dacic said that he will visit the endangered area together with the emergency services to make sure that all necessary measures are taken so that the embankments can resist the waters.
