According to the statement, Bradic is visiting Pecs at the invitation of Hungarian Education and Culture Minister Istvan Hiller and Mayor of Pecs Zsolt Pava. During his visit Bradic will meet with representatives of the Serbian local self-government and the Pecs-Baranya association of Serbs.
Throughout 2010, the city of Pecs will organise various events to promote Hungarian culture and share its rich cultural heritage with the world.
The opening ceremony of the programme on January 10 will be centred round the values of openness, the interactive power of tradition, innovation and civil society.
A special emphasis will be on the cooperation established by Pecs with Essen and Istanbul, the other two cities that won the title of European Capital of Culture in 2010, concludes the statement.
