Speaking at the press conference at which this programme was presented, Obradovic said that it envisages an increase in the number of Chinese language teachers in Serbia and Serbian language teachers in China.
The programme also entails cooperation between the universities of Belgrade and Beijing and gives directions for cooperation in other fields.
The Minister explained that there are 15 students at the Department for Serbian language at Beijing University, while Chinese is being taught in two secondary schools in Serbia, the Philology High School in Belgrade and the High School in Sremski Karlovci.
Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Wei Jinghua said that investment in education is an investment in the future and stressed that the Chinese government pays a lot of importance to cooperation between the two countries in this field.
State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Education Radivoje Mitrovic said that, during his visit to China, representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Education expressed a readiness to finance the master's and doctoral studies of Serbs in China.
