Dacic said that the most negative event was the death of young Djordje Zaric during a police operation.
He said that visa liberalisation is confirmation that Serbia has fulfilled certain requirements and reiterated that this move was not a gift, but recognition of the organs that had worked on achieving it, particularly the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice.
The Minister said that other negative events during 2009 were the murder of French citizen Brice Taton and the tragic accident at the Prvi Partizan factory in Uzice, in which seven workers died.
He said that these tragic events also harmed confidence between the police and the public.
