Government adopts CoE framework convention on cultural heritage

The Serbian Ministry of Culture stated that the Serbian government adopted at its session today the Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society.
This Convention shall contribute to the creation of a framework in which the signatory countries should harmonise the policies of cultural heritage protection and cultural heritage.
The text of the framework convention treats cultural heritage, on one hand, as a resource for development of people and their communities, improvement of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, and on the other, as part of the model of economic development based on the principles of sustainable use of heritage as a resource.
