Serbian police experience valuable for Universiade Shenzhen organisation

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic talked today with representatives of the city of Shenzhen, which will host the 26th Universiade.
According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, Shenzhen, a city with a population of 12 million, is an economic wonder of China, as within a period of 30 years, it was transformed from a small fishing town into the third most developed city in, China following Beijing and Shanghai.
Dacic talked with the Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen, who told Dacic about plans for organising the Universiade and mentioned that recent large population movements towards the city have given rise to certain security risks and the experience of the Serbian police in the organisation of the Universiade will be highly appreciated.
Dacic said that Serbia and China are good partners and their good political relationship should be further improved by economic, cultural and police cooperation.
He said that the Serbian police will do its best to exchange experiences with the Chinese regarding the organisation of major sporting events, as well as the fight against crime, terrorism and drug trafficking.
Dacic also met today with representatives of the leading Chinese telecommunications company Huawei, which has an office in Belgrade.
Deputy Director of Huawei Philip Juang said that Huawei wishes to strengthen cooperation with Serbian businesses. He thanked the Serbian government for its support.
Dacic said that the Serbian telecommunications market is small but it is ready to cooperate with Chinese companies.
Later today, Dacic will meet with representatives of the Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce, who are interested in investing in Serbia, concludes the statement.
