According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, Dacic expressed gratitude to China for its principled stance on the issue of Kosovo-Metohija and for China’s statements before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in this regard.
He said that Serbia would have faced a very tough situation without the principled support from China and Russia in the UN Security Council.
Jiarui said that cooperation between Serbia and China was always good and it should be improved.
He stressed that China will support Serbia concerning the issue of Kosovo-Metohija and said that he hopes that the ICJ will settle the question justly.
Both ministers emphasised their long standing political friendship at the meeting. Dacic said that the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China is an important personality when it comes to strategic global issues pertaining to international relations.
They pointed to the importance of establishing the best possible relations between Serbian political parties and their cooperation with the Chinese Communist Party. Dacic invited Jiarui to visit Serbia next year.
Dacic visited the tomb of Mao Zedong and
the Wall of China. During his visit Dacic will also visit the city of Shenzhen, which will hold the next Universiade. Dacic will meet with enterprisers and talk about experiences concerning the organisation of the Universiade in Belgrade.
