Serbia, China sign agreement on cooperation

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu signed today in Beijing an agreement on cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of the Interior and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security.
Dacic said that the agreement primarily implies an exchange of information, experiences, achievements in the technical and technological development of police structures and joint training.
In practice this refers to all lines of work in our Ministry, from the fight against organised and hi-tech crime and illegal migrations to trafficking in human beings, drugs and weapons, Dacic explained and invited Minister Meng Jianzhu to visit Serbia next year.
Jianzhu stressed that this is an excellent opportunity to develop not only political, but also other relations, including those in the economic, cultural, art, sport, scientific and technological spheres.
At the meeting with Dacic he also noted the friendly relations between their two countries.
Jianzhu proposed that the delegations from their ministries begin talks on concrete cooperation in the fight against transcontinental crime, trafficking in weapons, drugs and humans, as well as hi-tech crime.
During the meeting Dacic thanked China on Serbia’s behalf for its participation in the debate at the ICJ yesterday and the elaboration of its stance regarding Kosovo-Metohija’s unilaterally declared independence.
As we all know, China took part in the debate on Serbia’s behalf and we, on the other hand, stressed our principled support to China’s territorial integrity. It is very important to point out that the Chinese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security unambiguously stated that China sees Serbia as its most reliable political partner in Southeaster Europe, Dacic noted.
During his stay in China Minister Dacic visited the Forbidden City and the Celestial Temple in Beijing.
