Serbia, France sign youth mobility agreement

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic and French Minister for Immigration, Integration, National Identity and Solidarity Development Eric Besson signed a youth mobility agreement today.
Djelic said that this agreement will allow Serbian students to study at French universities, while those who have a master's degree will have opportunities to work in France for up to two years.
France has pledged to invest €650,000 in this project over the next three years. The agreement concerns students and professionals aged between 18 and 35.
He stressed that the agreement will make it possible for more than 500 young experts from Serbia to find employment in France, regardless of the economic crisis and the situation of the labour market there.
Djelic said that France is the first EU country that has gone a step further after the removal of visa restrictions in offering opportunities to young people in Serbia, adding that he hopes that other EU countries will also sign similar agreements.
Besson stressed that the agreement signed today symbolises the excellent relations between France and Serbia and will help Serbia’s European integration.
It is clear that Serbia’s future is in Europe and that this is in the mutual interests of Serbia and France, concluded Besson.
