Dacic,
who is on visit to Geneva, said after the meeting that he agreed with Briceño that an international conference of all the countries of the region and ISDR representatives should be held next year in Belgrade.
He explained that this conference will also be attended by representatives of the European Commission's Directorate General for Enlargement, with the aim of defining all the potential disasters that could threaten southeastern Europe.
The ISDR welcomes our initiative to include the entire region in this process because no country is big enough to respond on its own in the case of a disaster, Dacic said.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also said that the ISDR welcomes Serbia's agreement with Russia for forming a regional centre for emergency situations, which will be located in Nis.
Dacic added that he will meet tomorrow with Director of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) Theodor Winkler, with whom he will sign a Protocol on sending liaison officers to the DCAF office in Ljubljana. He will also meet with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres.
