First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic sent a telegram of condolences to the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, its believers and the Serbian people regarding the death of Patriarch Pavle.
“His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle left this earthly life quietly, just as he had lived. He committed his life to prayer for our wellbeing and his mercy and wise words were our comfort and hope.
The Patriarch’s mission will always be remembered by the Serbian people. The Orthodox world, Serbian people, our church and each of us should look up to the Patriarch’s deeds and seek guidance there in order to resist all temptation by preserving their faith in and love for our Lord and our people”, the telegram reads.
