They discussed the security situation in Serbia, cooperation with the Hague tribunal and the Council of Europe’s assistance to the Ministry of the Interior.
Laurens voiced his pleasure at the initiated reforms, as well as the Council of Europe’s readiness to provide technical and expert assistance in implementing the reforms aimed at establishing a more efficient and professional system in line with the Council of Europe’s standards.
Dacic stressed the importance of cooperation with the Council of Europe and acquainted Laurens with the interior ministry’s priorities, including the committed fight against organised crime and corruption and all threats to Serbia’s security and the safety of its citizens, adding that the EU integration process is also a priority.
