In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Dacic said that this group engaged in the illegal production and trade of narcotics, human trafficking as well storing, transporting and trading in arms and explosives devices.
He said that they also committed criminal acts of aggravated larceny. They entered into houses and broke into safes.
Dacic stressed that the group stole weapons from a shop in Subotica and that the police found in their apartment a large quantity of cocaine, an unlicenced pistol, gold and foreign currency as well as cars.
Also arrested was a police officer from the Police Directorate of Subotica, who is a member of the organised group and whose role was to inform them about police activities, said Dacic.
This action is the latest in a series of police and prosecution actions primarily directed at combating all forms of crime, which is another clear indication that the state of Serbia and all state bodies have set as a priority the fight against crime and the safety of our citizens, concluded Dacic.
