Krkobabic delivers aid to refugees

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic today delivered building materials as aid to ten refugee families, as part of the Serbian government’s prgoramme for supporting local communities through the Office of the Serbian Commissioner for Refugees.
Krkobabic said that the aid is valued at RSD 150,000, adding that 61 people applied for assistance and the aid was distributed to the most disadvantaged families.
He said that according to the last census, 1,200 refugees and internally displaced persons live in Sremska Mitrovica.
During 2008, refugee families in 29 municipalities in Serbia were provided with building materials worth RSD 38,975,000, while this year building materials worth RSD 33,000,000 were distributed in 24 municipalities.
