After the meeting with president of the Ljubovija municipality Miroslav Nenadovic, Dacic told the press that with this operation the state carried out a preventive attack on the smuggling network in Serbia.
Dacic said that the police, prosecution and security services, in coordination with the National Security Council, showed that the state can fight all forms of crime successfully and act in a preventive way.
He also pointed to importance of international police cooperation, setting the example of the Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA), which recently took part in the seizure of over 2 tons of cocaine in international waters.
Owing to information from the Serbian police, over 1.1 tonnes of various drugs have been seized in Latin America, South Africa and Western Europe in the past 15 months.
The Serbian police participated in those operations by giving information on persons that originate or are from Serbia.
