Speaking at a press conference held at the Police Administration of Novi Pazar, Dacic said that it is of great importance for Serbia that there have been almost no incidents based on nationality, in such a region which is a potential hotspot for such conflicts.
He underlined that Serbia aspires to European integration and to be a democratic state, based on principles of national equality and economic growth. He reiterated that it is of vital importance for Serbia that citizens of all nationalities are included in all state structures.
Dacic stressed that the police do not discriminate between minorities, noting that anyone can apply to join, regardless of ethnicity.
The goal of the police and citizens is the same and that is to preserve stability and safety, as well as to fight all forms of crime, terrorism and extremism, the Minister noted.
Dacic visited Tutin municipality today, as well as
the Sopocani monastery near Novi Pazar.
He also held a lecture for students at the International University themed ‘Safety of the Republic of Serbia, with Reference to Safety in Sandzak’.
