Djelic said after meeting with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister Dusan Caplovic that Slovakia’s position is that the Interim Trade Agreement should be implemented without delay.
On behalf of the Serbian government he expressed his gratitude for the support of Slovakia and added that Belgrade sees Slovakia as one of their best friends in the EU.
The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration said that during the meeting they discussed bilateral agreements in education, culture and science, which should be signed during the visit of Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic to Serbia in December.
During the meeting they also discussed a joint collaboration on the development of the European Danubian Strategy, which should be adopted during the Hungarian presidency of the EU in the first half of the 2011.
Djelic said that Slovakia took over the presidency of the Decade of Roma from Serbia.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Minister for Human and Minority Rights Svetozar Ciplic, the officials agreed that the EU must have a pan-European Roma policy.
Today, Caplovic will be awarded with the title of honorary citizen of Kovacica.
Later, he and Djelic will visit the Vojvodina naïve painting gallery.
