At a press conference, held at the Government Palace, Minister Dacic pointed out that this cruel act will severely damage Serbia’s image worldwide.
The Minister stressed that Serbia did all it could in order to provide medical assistance to the French citizen, adding that even a special team of doctors was formed.
He said that such a tragic event will unite the whole country to condemn these kind of acts, and there has to be a clear message sent that the state will act most energetically to prevent vandals and hooligan groups.
Dacic called on the general public to condemn the behaviour leading to this tragic event, noting that this would help to prevent such violent acts in the future.
The state will have to pay more attention to UEFA and FIFA regulations in the future, Dacic said, noting that they were not completely met in the case of the Partizan-Toulouse football match.
Malovic condemned the murder of the French citizen, announcing that the government will make every effort to adequately punish those responsible for the attack.
She said she had discussed with the Interior Ministry representatives amendments to the law that would prevent those people who had been punished at sporting events before from attending any such future events.
Radovanovic expressed his condolences to the family of Brice Taton, announcing the fight against any kind of violent behaviour.
Since he has died, this act will be considered as an act of murder, which means that the perpetrators of this crime could be sentenced to up to 40 years in prison, concluded the Public Prosecutor.
