Dacic and Sutanovac agreed that this document creates a legal framework for even better cooperation between the army and police and for keeping track of modern trends in technological development.
Dacic said that the situation in the telecom sector has changed a lot and that the Interior and Defence Ministries, just like the army and police, have a big task ahead in maintaining the peace, stability and security of the country.
The Minister noted that this will include the fight against all forms of crime and terrorism as well as the preservation of the country’s state integrity and territorial sovereignty.
He said that there is also a need to cooperate over the implementation of new technologies, as the Serbian Army and the police must follow new trends.
Dacic added that the Interior Ministry implemented one of the most modern digital systems, which is in accordance with the TETRA standard.
Cooperation between the Defence and Interior Ministries has always been very successful, said the Minister, reiterating that a strong police force and army are the basis of every state and that both the police and the army depend on the trust of their citizens.
Sutanovac pointed out that the two ministries have made great progress in their cooperation.
Dacic stressed that by adopting bills on the Military Security Agency and the Military Intelligence Service, the government met the last remaining precondition for Serbia's inclusion on the Schengen 'white list'.
Sutanovac voiced his belief that the laws will be forwarded to parliament for adoption under urgent procedure and that they will be included in parliament's agenda at its next session, scheduled for October 6, adding that 5 laws and 2 strategies have already entered parliamentary procedure.
