Djelic talks with Wikipedia founder

Belgrade, 12 September 2009

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic met with Wikipedia founder Jim Wales at today’s session of the World Economic Forum in Dalian.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s cabinet says in a statement that Wales commended the active Wikipedia community in Serbia, thanks to which this August Belgrade became the site of the regional data base of this online encyclopaedia, which greatly facilitates access to users from Serbia.

Wales accepted Djelic’s invitation to visit Serbia soon and work with him on supporting innovative Internet projects in Serbia.

I am delighted that Mr. Wales, one of the most creative world leaders in the Internet, has accepted our invitation to visit Serbia and help us promote innovation and technology in our country, Djelic stated.
