The Serbian Ministry of Culture stated today that on September 3, Minister Nebojsa Bradic will unveil a memorial plaque at the house of Paja Jovanovic in Bircaninova Street, as part of the ceremonies to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the renowned Serbian painter.
According to the statement, curator of the Belgrade City Museum Jasna Markovic will also speak at the ceremony.
The anniversary is being celebrated under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the cities of Belgrade and Vrsac, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the National Museum in Belgrade, the Belgrade City Museum, the Vrsac City Museum and the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad are organising the event.
The memorial plaque has been installed at the house where his studio was located and in which Jovanovic lived with his wife Muni during the 1940s.
