Police controls in southern Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said that the police will organise a control of places of residence since there has been an unusual increase in the number of registrations in the municipalities of Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja.
Dacic said that visa liberalisation will not apply to citizens living in Kosovo and added that Serbia is responsible to the European Commission for checking whether passport requests and addresses are real.
This check should not cause any sort of panic or fear amongst the local Albanians, he said.
He also added that the confiscation of arms and ammunition buried in an oil tank in the village of Konculj in the municipality of Bujanovac will help improve the security situation in the south of Serbia.
