In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Dacic said that it is in Serbia’s national interest to develop good relations with all the politically influential countries in the world, primarily countries that share a similar view of current issues.
He said that Medvedev will attend the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade, adding that huge efforts are being put into the organisation of the event.
He said that the Russian President’s visit to Serbia will also be an opportunity to discuss joint progress in further improving economic cooperation between the two countries.
Russia is Serbia’s top trading partner and last year trade with Russia stood at $4 billion, said Dacic.
He said that he is convinced that the Serbian people will give a warm welcome to the Russian President, adding that the same maximum security measures will be put in place for his visit that were implemented
during the visit of US Vice President Joe Biden.
