In an interview with the Tanjug news agency, Djelic pointed out that the donation is the best evidence yet of EU solidarity.
Minister Djelic specified that the European Commission, in cooperation with the Serbian government, has established a number of specific preconditions for the provision of the loan, such as the consistent implementation of the IMF programme and the continuation of reforms needed for Serbia’s EU integration.
He recalled that the money will be provided in two instalments of €50 million, the first in the autumn of 2009 and the second in the first half of 2010.
