Djavolja Varos not a new seven wonders finalist

Serbia’s candidate for the new seven wonders of nature list, in the caves, rock formations and valleys category, Djavolja Varos (Devil’s Town), did not make the list of finalists published today by the New 7 Wonders organisers.

Djavolja Varos, near Kursumlija, was amongst the top choices in a list of 77 candidates after internet voting closed on July 7. Although it was a long time favourite from the beginning of this year it was not included on the final list.
During this year and next, voting will take place for selecting the new seven natural wonders of the world from the final list and the results will be announced in the summer of 2010.
