Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic today called on the leaders of the ethnic Albanian communities in southern Serbia to cooperate in the interest of peace and stability. He stated that it is impossible to withdraw the Gendarmerie from that part of the country as long as the threat of terrorist attacks exists.
In a statement to Tanjug news agency Dacic said that since he has assumed office the police have never used unnecessary force, adding that whenever charges of that kind were made a full investigation was carried out and that southern Serbia is no exception in this matter.
