At today’s session of the Council for Sustainable Development Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration Bozidar Djelic presented a report on the implementation of the national sustainable development strategy during the past year.
A statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Cabinet says that the report states that the implementation of the Action Plan, adopted on March 13 this year, has started successfully and 150 projects have been defined which were presented at
the conference “Friends of Sustainable Serbia” held in Belgrade on June 3.
Key steps were taken for capacity building to implement the Action Plan and a forum of partners was formed at the conference held on May 20 in Paracin, where coordinators were appointed to all the relevant institutions, including local self-government.
Djelic stressed that future main activities will be educating various target groups, particularly local self-government representatives, cooperation between ministries to prepare Serbia’s platform for the Post-Kyoto negotiations and cooperation with the Finance Ministry regarding the distribution of donations, concludes the statement.
