Speaking at a press conference where the Ministry presented its achievements during the past year, Mrkonjic said that this is good news, adding that construction will begin this summer.
He said that next week he will sign an agreement with Croatian Transport Minister Bozidar Kalmeta which will make it possible for Jat Airways to reintroduce flights to Dubrovnik from July 20.
Mrkonjic said that a Croatian ministerial delegation will visit Belgrade from July 13 to 14 to discuss various issues concerning water, air, road and railway transport.
He said that bilateral agreements regarding various areas of transport are expected to be signed between the two countries on July 15 and 16.
The Minister said that there are certain issues which need to be settled, including Jat flights, road transport licenses.
He said that the government has made a decision and prepared the draft of three laws concerning the payment of part of the debt to road companies to the amount of RSD 21.5 billion, stressing that it has been agreed with the companies that the rest of the RSD 8.5 million will be reprogrammed for payment over the next four years.
The Minister stressed that the solution to the problem of debt repayment has paved the way for a new investment cycle in infrastructure.
He stressed that this will enable the companies to compete for new tenders.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure Aleksandar Cvetanovic said that 300 kilometers of the 635 kilometers of Corridor 10 roads still need to be completed.
He said that of the 108 kilometers long Horgos – Novi Sad section, work is underway on 20 kilometers which will be finished in November, adding that there is a possibility of beginning the construction of a further 20 to 30 kilometers in the autumn, which would be financed from the state budget.
Cvetanovic stressed that the €1.2 billion which Serbia will receive from the World Bank, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be spent on the Leskovac – Presevo and Nis – Dimitrovgrad sections.
He said that the plan is to complete this work in the next three years, adding that 50 kilometers of roads will be built by the end of the year with funds from the budget and it is planned that work will begin on another 50 kilometers.
Assistant Minister Zorica Djelic-Stojcic said that the Ministry is planning that amendments to the laws on the railways, safety in railway transport, the transport of dangerous goods, inland waterways and civil aviation are approved by the end of this year.
