Speaking at a roundtable discussion “Valuing scientific and development research” at the Faculty of Information Technology, Djelic said that encouraging scientific and development work is an important part of the national strategy for science and technological development which will be presented at the end of this month.
He said that recommendations made at the roundtable discussion will be included in the draft strategy, adding that the presentation of the strategy on June 29 will be attended by EU Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potocnik.

Speaking about the problems of scientists in Serbia, Djelic said that they now have access to better equipment but they do not have adequate funds to meet all the requirements for carrying out research within the country.
The roundtable discussion was held as part of a two day expert meeting “Scientific, technological and business information System SNTPI 09”.
