Speaking at a meeting of the heads of various police departments and unit commanders who are in charge of the security measures for Universiade, Dacic said that the police are ready for the event and that measures have been put in place to ensure security during the Universiade.
He stressed that more than 6,000 members of the police force, in cooperation with other security services, will be responsible for the security of the participants.
He said that participants from the US and Israel will have their own security arrangements but the Serbian police will be in charge of the security of all other participants and visitors.
The meeting was attended by State Secretary at the Interior Ministry Dragan Markovic. Dacic also visited the Belgrade police operations centre building where the latest street surveillance equipment has been installed.
