Speaking at a press conference, Sreckovic said that the motto of the conference is “Bridges we build today create the leaders of tomorrow”. It will bring together nearly 400 successful young people from 19 countries that represent the youth of five continents, including young people from various educational institutions, the business, education and culture sectors as well as governmental and non-governmental bodies.
He said that the conference is an opportunity for young people from abroad and at home to jointly create a friendly atmosphere, to discuss various current issues, to exchange experiences and ideas and to make contacts for future cooperation.
The Minister said that this event is the first of its kind in Serbia and will be an excellent opportunity for the public to get to know about successful young people abroad.
He said that Serbia has a great human resource potential but this potential has not been adequately put to use, primarily because of bad policies which were in place for a long time.
He said that the conference is a sign that the state’s policy towards the Diaspora and Serbs in the region has changed.
Tijana Arnautovic
President of the International Conference of Young Leaders from the Diaspora Tijana Arnautovic said that the purpose of establishing the event is to create a forum for exchanging information and ideas in order to strengthen the network of links and communication between the homeland and the Diaspora.
She explained that the event is designed so that talks, panel discussions and exhibitions will facilitate the exchange of opinions and offer opportunities for cooperation, adding that the conference will consist of speeches, a small business fair and an awards ceremony for the most successful young entrepreneurs.
