Consensus to be reached in EU regarding visa liberalisation for Serbia

Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Bozidar Djelic stated the Serbian delegation will try to get EU foreign ministers to reach a consensus regarding visa liberalisation for Serbian citizens at their meeting today in Luxemburg.

Djelic told Tanjug that EU Commissioners for Justice and Enlargement respectively, Jacques Barrot and Olli Rehn, already gave positive assessments.
Speaking on trade agreement, Djelic said that the report given by Hague tribunal’s Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz, who will attend a luncheon today, has softened the Dutch position.
The Netherlands will probably not change its position regarding the Transitional Trade Agreement, but will most probably support visa liberalisation.
Djelic announced he will meet with President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Philippe Maystadt who has invested €1.4 billion in Serbia and a further €600 million for Corridor 10 in the near future.
He will also present the EIB President with some of the €150 million worth of infrastructure projects in the domains of science and technology.
