Serbia receives 3.8 grade for implementing Bologna Declaration

Minister of Education Zarko Obradovic today stated that Serbia has been graded 3.8 for its Bologna Declaration implementation process, adding that it is now 24th on the list of Bologna Declaration signatories.

Obradovic told a press conference that the grade shows that Serbia has a good quality higher education system, adding that in the period 2007-2009 Serbia received the same grades as Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Montenegro.
The Minister said that Italy, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia and Turkey received even lower grades, while Scotland received the best grade (5.0).
According to him the Bologna process achievements were summarised at the Ministerial Conference held on April 28-29 in Leuven, Belgium, in which a Serbian delegation took part.
Obradovic expressed his satisfaction with the grade that Serbia received, but added that not all the problems in higher education are solved yet.
He announced that the government will make a decision on the number of freshmen for 2009/10.
